I was driving across the Sabine Street Bridge when I noticed the purple lights of the overpass reflected in the calm water of Buffalo Bayou. I parked at one of the public parking spaces on the bridge and walked down to the edge of the bank and set up my camera and tripod. I took several 15 second exposures, I tried several different angles and slightly different locations but this was the one I liked the most.

Buffalo Bayou Partnership has done an amazing job of turning this once neglected area into a beautiful park with all kinds of activities for the public to enjoy. See Texas Explorer magazine story about Buffalo Bayou.

Part of Buffalo Bayou Partnership's Lighting and Public Art Master Plan, "this plan is an effort to enhance public appreciation and to promote an appealing identity for Houston's neglected central corridor."
