Although, I love to shoot landscapes and wildlife,
lately my favorite subject has been the candid portrait. These should be un-posed
( un-planned ),
natural images that don't feel faked. One of the things I try to do in my
portrait photography
is to capture an image of someone that gives an impression about who they
are without words. I had just spent the morning photographing at Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels, as I was leaving I walked over to Corner Tube Rental and sat under a tree to rest and look through the photos I had just taken. When I finally looked up I couldn't help but notice this striking young lady staring at me from behind the counter. Even though I was a good twenty feet away, I knew the lens I had on the camera ( 300mm ) would frame her perfectly. As I was raising the camera I looked at her and asked her to smile. She very kindly obliged. Thank you Kayla! |
