The Texas Medical Center
is a city within a city, a Medical Metropolis, it's striking skyline can
be seen for miles in all directions, dominated by the 25 story St. Luke's
Medical Tower, it is the largest and most famous medical complex in the
world.
Located just south of
Downtown Houston, next to
Hermann Park
and Rice University. The Texas Medical Center has become an unprecedented success for
Houston, the State of Texas, and for the thousands of patients,
students,
visitors, employees and volunteers that use these outstanding
medical facilities to help better their lives and the lives of others. With approximately 50,000 employees,
the Texas Medical center member institutions collectively are the largest
employer in Houston, responding to over 4.5 million patients who visit
yearly. Over 90,000 people attend classes on the campus, over 20,000 are full time students, another 68,000 take courses or professional training and 1,800 are participants in short courses, seminars, or workshops. |
