2012 Houston Fireworks Celebration

Date: Wednesday, July 4, 2012, 4 - 10 p.m

Where: Eleanor Tinsley Park at Buffalo Bayou

Tickets: $8 per person (children 5 and under free)

Fireworks will ignite the sky, and country tunes will set the stage for an extraordinary patriotic celebration at Mayor Annise Parker's official Fourth of July event, Freedom Over Texas.

Freedom Stage featured artist, Billy Currington, will please Houston crowds with songs from his newest album. Joining Currington is Grammy Award winner, Sara Evans. Evans is ready to celebrate with her newest collection, Stronger.

Other activities will include the Bud Lighjt Zone where you can “cool off” with a cold one at the Budweiser All American Beer Garden, and enjoy a prime view of the eighth annual Bud Light Texas Volleyball Championship Series Finals

 

Walmart All American Kids Zone, where you can find more than 30,000 square feet of free educational and entertainment programming for children. Radio Disney, Jr. Area will focus on pre-school age children with Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Cast members will interact with the kids & assist in game play and prize giveaways.

Red Door Productions is back by popular demand. This diverse dance group and children’s performance company provides the venue and resources for students to promote the arts. Magician Harry Maurer will make an appearance.

I shot this video at the Houston 4th of July fireworks celebration from Waugh Rd and Memorial Drive. This clip is from the last few minutes of the show including the spectacular finally. There must have been ten thousand people around me and hundred thousand in and around downtown.
