Guadalupe Mountains National Park

Early morning at Guadalupe Mountains National Park while waiting for the sun to come up and hopefully break through the dense clouds, I decided to try some light-painting. Using a powerful Maglite flashlight I quickly started painting the Yucca, shining the light from a slight angle I was able to produce shadows which gave the image some depth and some much needed color on a very grey morning.

The image to the right is similar to the one above, but I moved in closer to the Yucca and painted it just a little longer.

I really enjoy light painting because you can create images that are unique, in a time when many of the states major icons have been photographed from every conceivable angle, light painting allows you to make images that are truly your own.
