Among the animals that call Palo Duro
home is the Wild Turkey. It has dark plumage with a iridescent sheen. The largest game bird in America, the
 Tom can grow up to four feet long
 and way as much as 22 lbs.
 

Another resident is the Golden
Fronted Woodpecker. Zebra Striped 
back, large bright orange nape patch,
 the male  has a bright red cap.
